Favorite Memories: Two Weeks in Japan

We spent about two weeks in Japan, and we barely got a taste of all this amazing country has to offer. There were so many activities and sights on my wishlist, but we hardly made a dent in it!

Here are a few of my favorite sights, experiences, and memories from our time in Japan traveling around Tokyo, Hakone, Nara, and Kyoto.

Traveling by Shinkansen

Collecting Goshuin

Seeing the city from the Skytree

Shopping for kawaii souvenirs

Walking to the top of Fushimi Inari

Phenomenal sunset views of the traditional and modern Kyoto

Playing arcade games in Akihabara

Making friends with the deer in Nara

Golden Gai

Taking the pirate ship across Lake Ashi

Exploring the gorgeous temple gardens

Visiting the Hakone Shrine

Seeing the giant Buddha at Todai-ji

Eating the black eggs at Owakudani Station

Exploring Shibuya by foot

Walking through the busiest crosswalk in the world

Staying in a historical hotel in Hakone

Breathtaking views of Fuji-san

Sampling Japanese cuisine

Enjoying some of the more traditional sights around Tokyo

Pagoda hopping

Taking the ropeway up and getting some great views of the Hakone region

Relaxing in the hotel yukata

Snacking on crepes in Harajuku

Spending Christmas exploring Asakusa with my favorite travel partner

We had such a wonderful time in Japan, despite the trip’s hiccups and us getting sick for a good part of it! We can’t wait to return one day and experience new regions and sights.

Happy wanderlusting, friends!

I have some of the same favorite memories from my month in Japan. The Shinkansen was just so cool – we were wowed every time we rode it! And the deer in Nara were a treat although they weren’t the friendliest unless you gave them cookies 🙂 Japan is such a special country – can’t wait to go back.

I realized that you are using photos instead of writing for pages. I liked your travel blogging style. It’s fun to see various of nice photos from Japan.
